Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Giants fight for your attention in the 2600 square kilometers of Tarangire National Park, famous for its large herds of elephants and century-old giant baobabs. In addition, many other animals reside here next to the Tarangire River, and so it is no wonder that many people love Tarangire!
Tanzania’s specialist’s guide easily explains why so many elephants choose Tarangire over other national parks, after which it takes you to the best places to see them. The dry season (June to October) is the most favorable time to visit this national park, with the Tarangire River attracting wildlife from afar. If you want to do something special during your stay here, you can choose to see the elephants from above, jumping into a hot air balloon.
On the way to Tarangire, it is possible to make a stop in a picturesque Maasai village. And if you want to add an extra day, you can choose to continue from Tarangire to Lake Eyasi where you can go hunting with the Hadzabe in the morning. This tribe is still one with nature, living in the Tanzanian hinterland.

Day 3-4: Serengeti National Park
The word Serengeti means endless plains in the language of the Maasai, which is exactly what you will see in the days to come; Miles and miles of African savannah! And trust us: this may be the most impressive landscape you’ve ever seen. Of course, the Serengeti National Park is home to a huge variety of wildlife, which is why many nature documentaries have been filmed here.
Immerse yourself in this unique landscape, as wildebeest and zebras pass you in their great migration. Spot lions on groups of rocks called kopjes, leopards in isolated trees, or cheetahs hunting a calf between wildebeests. Pass by giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, gazelles and a vervet cat or wild dog if you’re lucky. The ultimate in romance that you can experience in a hot air balloon over these plains (which can even be shaped like a heart!).
Spend a pleasant night in a luxury safari tent, with a staff that knows how to give the newlyweds a little extra during dinner for example. Snuggle up at night listening to the distant roar of a lion or the bellow of the flocks of the Great Migration. This is the real safari experience! Next, you’ll drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands on your way to or from the Serengeti, an impressive landscape where you might encounter groups of giraffes or some members of the resident Maasai tribes.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is huge and contains what might be the most special place in Africa – the Ngorongoro Crater! It is a relatively small but very fertile terrain of 20 by 20 kilometers surrounded by a rim of craters. Nowhere else in the world will you find so many wild animals in such a small area; On average, 25,000 large mammals can be found here!
This means that today you have a great chance to spot some members of the Big Five: lions, elephants and buffaloes roam here in numbers. Finally, the crater is home to a few dozen rare black rhinos, making it the best place to spot one!
The conservation area itself is much larger than this crater – in this area you can find several calderas and also the Olduvai Gorge (with the oldest human remains in the world) can be found here. By car, you can visit beautiful Maasai villages and, if your time permits, you can even go on a guided walking safari at the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater.
MANYARA VALLEY LODGE
Day 6: A day full of romance!
Today, you will only have time for each other in one of the most romantic places in northern Tanzania. With great views, a cute bedroom, and a breathtaking infinity pool, this place offers everything a honeymooner could wish for. The staff will pamper you, while you go for example for a romantic candlelit dinner in the bush.
It could also be a good day for a special excursion: for example, you could take a nice roadtrip to the Empekai crater. There you can picnic at the edge of the craters or below near the lake full of flamingos. A Maasai wedding could also be to your liking, where you get married (again) in the style of the Maasai. Dressed in beautiful Maasai blankets and adorned with colorful pearl jewelry, you get married (again), surrounded by songs and dances of Maasai tribal members.

Day 7 – 13: Zanzibar
Nothing can be more romantic than getting out of your jeep safari, on the plane, flying over African land and a blue ocean, to arrive on the pearly white sand beaches of Zanzibar! Enjoy the beautiful resort, delicious cocktails under the palm trees and take a dip in the ocean or pool. Watch local fishermen bring their catch of the day in their old-fashioned wooden dhows, after which you order this catch for your dinner or lunch at one of the restaurants. And if then the sun sets in the evening covering everything with a red glow while you are sitting on the beach, you realize that you have found yourself in a romantic paradise.
