Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park
Today you will head to your first Tanzanian national park: beautiful Lake Manyara. Despite being one of the smallest national parks in the country, it still packs a punch. Expect to spot herds of elephants walking slowly across the plains, vast troops of baboons in the thick forest canopy and – if you’re lucky! – maybe even tree-climbing lions.
You’ll spend the day in your private 4×4 safari vehicle with your experienced safari guide in mind. A fascinating variety of wildlife can be found around the huge soda lake, including buffalo, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, and many flamingos. The shallow Hippo Pool is always a highlight and offers excellent hippo viewing opportunities as well as spectacular views of the Rift Valley escarpment.
However, Lake Manyara in Tanzania is not just about epic safaris. Combine a full day of adventure safari with various activities ranging from cultural visits to canopy walks and more!
Return to your luxury lodge on Lake Manyara at sunset and enjoy a delicious alfresco meal, listening to the tranquil hum of the wilderness.
MARERA VALLEY LODGE
Day 3-4: Serengeti National Park
Today, you’ll continue your African safari experience to one of the country’s biggest attractions: the Serengeti National Park. The endless plains and abundance of wildlife that inhabit the Serengeti are unmatched. The wildebeest migration with over a million wildebeest is probably the highest point in the Serengeti. It is a real sight and impressive to see millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles rumbling across the endless plains of the Serengeti.
With your private guide, you’ll search for herds across the plains. Besides migratory animals, you will also be able to see many other animals, such as lions, cheetahs, leopards and many others. Expect to be impressed by the natural beauty of Africa’s most famous park.
If you like to observe wildlife from another angle, we recommend taking a hot air balloon safari. It is an amazing experience to drift silently over the plains with herds of wildlife.
OSINONI LUXURY TENTED LODGE
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
Early in the morning, you drive from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The road takes you over the Great Rift Valley, through the crater forest, to the striking Ngorongoro Crater. This collapsed volcano is the main feature of the region and creates a unique ecosystem with a wide variety of vegetation. Enjoy the beautiful colors of the landscapes and the diversity of animals.
The crater is home to the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa and is suffocated by elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and even the rare black rhino. This is one of the best places to spot all the Big Five. The views from the rim of the crater on the crater floor are amazing. Due to its natural beauty, Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.
There are a range of activities to do in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, such as visiting a Maasai village. (Secret of Manyara)
