Day 1: ARUSHA TO MACHAME GATE TO MACHAME CAMP

Day 1: ARUSHA TO MACHAME GATE TO MACHAME CAMP
From Arusha – Start at the Machame Gate, where you will register and begin your trek. Hike through the lush montane forest, which will take about 4 to 5 hours. Reach Machame Camp, where you will spend the night. The camp is located at an altitude of 3,000 meters (9,842 feet).
Day 2: MACHAME CAMP TO SHIRA CAMP
Continue your hike through the forest and onto the heathland, which will take about 5 to 6 hours. Cross the Shira Plateau and reach Shira Camp, which is located at an altitude of 3,840 meters (12,597 feet).
Day 3: SHIRA CAMP TO BARRANCO CAMP
Leave Shira Camp and hike to the Lava Tower, which will take about 4 to 5 hours. Continue to Barranco Camp, which is located at an altitude of 3,960 meters (13,000 feet).
Day 4: BARRANCO CAMP TO KARANGA CAMP
Climb the Great Barranco Wall, which will take about 2 to 3 hours. Continue to the Karanga Valley, where you will reach Karanga Camp, which is located at an altitude of 4,000 meters (13,123 feet).
Day 5: KARANGA CAMP TO BARAFU CAMP
Leave Karanga Camp and hike to Barafu Camp, which will take about 4 to 5 hours. Barafu Camp is located at an altitude of 4,600 meters (15,091 feet) and will be your final camp before attempting the summit.
Day 6: BARAFU CAMP TO UHURU PEAK AND DOWN TO MWEKA CAMP
Begin your summit attempt, which will take about 8 to 10 hours. Reach the summit of Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro, which is located at an altitude of 5,895 meters (19,341 feet). Descend to Mweka Camp, which will take about 4 to 6 hours. Mweka Camp is located at an altitude of 3,100 meters (10,171 feet) and will be your final camp for the trek. Once at the base of the mountain, the transport will bring you back to Arusha.

This itinerary is subject to change depending on various factors such as weather conditions, the physical ability of the trekkers, and acclimatization. It’s also crucial to be well-prepared for the challenges of high-altitude trekking, including carrying the necessary gear and equipment, having proper training, and being physically and mentally fit.
